As can be seen, I draw on The New York Times, both from our house subscription and from links posted at DeweyWriter.com. Other articles come from the San Francisco Chronicle, Mogenic.com, The Associated Press, the Washington Blade, and other online sources. Links to the Times may require registration, which I recommend as painless and beneficial; with some exceptions (reviews, poll summaries, the magazine), Times stories are only free online for a week from publication.
This is really neither a (breaking) news nor a commentary site. Rather, it’s a way of alerting friends to items I find of interest that I suspect might have escaped their notice: usually in the areas of politics, culture, sex, the rights of and abuses of children and the young, and their several intersections – I’m also interested in anxiety, depression and other states of mind.
I do my best to link to original sources where available, and to respect copyright. This occasionally may lead to dead-end or for-pay links; or my imperfect understanding of my obligations to copyright holders may lead to errors in that area. In either case, a comment, an email, or a message via my home page, should be sufficient to get me to correct any problem as best I can.
Finally, there will be the occasional post from my life, just to demonstrate to all of us that I still have one.
Best to all,
M.
